Taylor Swift Knew About Sabrina Carpenter’s Skims Campaign

Earlier this year, Sabrina Carpenter (the girl who’s working late because she’s a singer) was featured in a boudoir shoot for a Skims campaign. Unfortunately, not everyone was as delighted by this promotional campaign as I imagine Barry Keoghan was. As you’ll recall, Skims owner Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift have some long standing and apparently unresolved beef, which was most recently referenced on The Tortured Poets Department. Because Carpenter has been opening for Swift for a handful of dates on her tour, Swifties were quick to jump to their ruler’s defense when the photos debuted back in April, according to TMZ. But in a Rolling Stone interview on Monday, the burgeoning pop star admitted that while there might be plenty of “Espresso” on the Eras Tour, there is, for once, no tea.

Carpenter told the outlet that while she was vaguely aware of the discourse happening around her collaboration with Kardashian, she chose not to tune into the social media backlash. Besides, the “Nonsense” singer says she ran the campaign by Swift long before the photos saw the light of day.

“In that scenario, I’ve been very, very communicative with her about that situation, and I just love her so much and support her till the end,” Carpenter said. “So it was no weirdness for me, but I know people will just say things because that’s all they have time to do.”

“We’re very, very verbal with each other about our mutual love and admiration,” she added of her relationship with Swift.

It’s hard to imagine Carpenter would do anything to jeopardize her involvement in the Eras Tour, which is partially responsible for launching the singer to pop stardom just in time to release her babbling song of the summer. Plus, the 25-year-old and her rodent boyfriend were seen giggling alongside Taylor and Travis Kelce at Coachella after the Skims debacle, so perhaps no one was really that pressed about it. Thank god, the “first ladies” of the Eras Tour can breathe a sigh of relief.
