Victoria Monét Pays Homage to Janet Jackson with ‘Alright’

[ad_1]

Not every blue era needs to involve paint but it does need to have some sparkles. On Monday, Victoria Monét teased the “Alright” music video by referencing two legendary pieces of art: Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and Nicole Kidman’s AMC commercial. And now, she’s making sure MJ’s sister gets her flowers, too. Monét pays homage to Janet Jackson’s “Alright” by wearing a black-and-white fedora and zoot suit similar to Jackson’s in the 1990 video. Getting the Janet moves in there seemed effortless— especially because it was directed by Dave Meyers, who worked with Janet on “All for You” and “Want You” in the early 2000s. If Miss Jackson loved Taylor Swift’s “Snow on the Beach” line a few years ago, just wait ‘til she wakes up to Monét’s version.
