Taylor Swift has released 15 albums, won 14 Grammys, and embarked on a tour credited with helping lift economies around the world. Her friend and collaborator Lana Del Rey has a few thoughts on why Swift is so successful.
“She wants it,” Del Rey told BBC News. “She’s told me so many times that she wants it more than anyone. And how amazing — she’s getting exactly what she wants. She’s driven, and I think it’s really paid off.” Del Rey, who has listened to at least one track on The Tortured Poets Department, worked with Swift on her 2023 album, Midnights.
Swift is currently on the European leg of her Eras tour, where she recently danced through intense rain in France and took a minute to call out pregnancy speculation on Instagram. Swift is starting her U.K. performances in Edinburgh tonight before heading to Cardiff, Wales, and Liverpool. She’s slated to perform eight shows at historic Wembley Stadium in London, a city she knows all too well. Her commitment to the Eras Tour won’t stop there — she’s expected to keep touring in Europe and North America through December.
