Halsey has been privately dealing with an autoimmune disease and writing an entire album about it. Yeah, we feel unproductive too. On June 4, the singer shared her lupus diagnosis along with a slideshow of videos showing her dealing with both the pain and the treatment. “I’m giving myself two more years to be sick,” the 29-year-old singer says in one video. “At 30, I’m having a rebirth.” The caption for the post reads, “long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive.” In 2022, Halsey was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome, and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.

“Short story long, i wrote an album,” Halsey continued. The first single, “The End,” is out now. “Every couple of years now, a doctor says I’m sick,” she sings on the new track. It’s time for everybody to root for Halsey’s 30s.
