Babe, wake up. A new Knives Out mystery has been announced. On May 24, director Rian Johnson shared that the next one is in the works, and Daniel Craig will return as detective Benoit Blanc, through a teaser on Twitter. He revealed the next installment will be called Wake Up Dead Man, continuing the tradition of naming the films after rock songs. The movie will reportedly begin production in June and will be Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet.” Will Matt Berry finally link up with Johnson, bringing the danger to a group of presumably wealthy, rich people? Not quite, but we do know the first people who will be joining Detective Blanc for his latest case. Below is everything we know about Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

Who are the suspects?

Challengers’s Josh O’Connor has been cast in a movie with a knife (yay!), but there are no rats that can cook (boo!). At least not yet… He and Priscilla’s Cailee Spaeny are cast as the first suspects (or victims) for Johnson’s newest mystery, Vulture confirms. There are no details yet on what their roles will exactly be, but they’d make a very cute “Golden retriever, black cat” couple that has a few secrets in their back pocket (or in their chef’s hat.) What’s On Netflix alleges that Lindsay Lohan and Tom Hardy are also in talks to star, but nothing has been confirmed.

When can we start sleuthing?

The mystery will arrive to Netflix sometime in 2025.
