The producers of The Boys spinoff Gen V have announced that the late Chance Perdomo’s role will not be recast for season 2. Perdomo died April 1 of this year, following a motorcycle crash. Gen V was set for its first table read of season 2 April 8, but Perdomo’s sudden death prompted the show to delay production. On social media, the Gen V producers made a statement saying in part “everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory. We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance.” Instead, the show is reworking the planned storylines for season 2. “We will honor Chance and his legacy this season,” they wrote. Perdomo played Andre Anderson, the son of Polarity with magnetic manipulation powers. Gen V’s season 1 finale teed up a conflict between Andre and his father over taking up the supe mantle.
