Early Thursday morning, an ambulance responded to a call about an unidentified injured adult woman at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in West Hollywood, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department told several sources. At the same time, Britney Spears was seen outside the hotel. According to reports, she didn’t get into the ambulance, instead leaving the hotel with her own security, but the incident sparked concern for her well-being.

Sources told NBC that Spears had injured her foot but wasn’t treated by paramedics. An eyewitness told ET that Spears was seen outside the hotel with Paul Richard Soliz, her former housekeeper whom she’s rumored to be dating. Meanwhile, CNN reported that a source close to Spears claimed that the singer and Soliz got into a “major fight” at the hotel, but she is now “home and safe.” Sky News reports that no law enforcement was called to the hotel.

In a Thursday afternoon Instagram post, Spears addressed the incident, writing that “the news is fake !!!” She said she “twisted her ankle” at the hotel and that paramedics “never came in my room but I felt completely harassed.” In another post, she shared a video of her swollen ankle, which she said she hurt while trying “to do a leap in the living room at the Chateau.” Spears didn’t comment on other big events in her life from the past week: the finalizing of her divorce from Sam Asghari and the end of the yearslong legal fight over her conservatorship with her father. But she did say she’s “getting stronger every day.”
