A few weeks after filing for divorce from her husband, Ryan Anderson, Gypsy Rose Blanchard confirmed to TMZ on Tuesday that she’s back together with her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker. The confirmation came three days after Blanchard and Urker were spotted kissing at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
“After reconnecting earlier this month, we realized that our love for each other is simply undeniable, and life is too short not to take a chance,” she said. “We have a history that made for the perfect foundation for a new beginning. We are together and in a wonderful place in our relationship. We know it is going to be a long road ahead but are excited for the future.”
Blanchard and Urker met through a pen-pal program while she was serving a ten-year sentence for her role in the murder of her mother, Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Urker got engaged in 2018 but broke up in 2019. Three years later, she married Ryan Anderson in a private ceremony with no guests while still incarcerated. After Blanchard was released from prison on parole in December — three years early — she told People the couple wanted to have a larger ceremony with a reception for friends and family. But she filed for divorce in early April, saying she needed some time to find herself.
Not long after announcing her split from Anderson, Blanchard was seen getting lunch and tattoos with Urker. Blanchard’s cousin, who owns the tattoo parlor the couple went to, told People that the two got matching husky tattoos. Meanwhile, Urker’s mother, Raina Williams, told People that the two were not back together and that her son just wanted to be a supportive friend. “I know that after she announced the separation, he was like, ‘I’ve got to be there for her,’” Williams said. We’ll have to see if Blanchard gets into the details in her memoir.
