Religion roundup: Easter services, basket blessings and health motivation



Flossmoor

St. John the Evangelist Church, 2640 Park Drive: Easter Vigil at 8 p.m. March 30 in the church. Easter services on March 31 are Holy Eucharist Rite I, spoken, at 8 a.m.; Sunday school at 9 a.m.; Trinity Lutheran Chapel worship service at 9 a.m. in the resource room; Holy Eucharist Rite II, sung, at 10:15 a.m. An Easter egg hunt is planned for 11:30 a.m. on the church lawn. Hickory Hills

St. Patricia Catholic Church, 9050 S. 86th Ave.: Holy Saturday services are morning prayer at 8:30 a.m. March 30, blessing of Easter baskets and food at 10 and 11 a.m. and Easter Vigil Mass at 7 p.m. Easter services on March 31 are 5:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Information: stpatriciaparish.com or 708-598-5222.

Orland Park

St. Michael Parish, 14327 Highland Ave.: Holy Week activities include 8 a.m. morning prayer in the chapel on March 30, as well as blessing of Easter baskets and food in English and Spanish at 2:30 p.m. March 30 and a bilingual solemn Easter Vigil at 7:30 p.m. March 30. No confession or 4:30 p.m. Mass that day. Easter Day services March 31 are at 7:340 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and a Mass in Spanish at 1:30 p.m. Extra seating for the 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Masses will be in the multipurpose room. Palos Heights

Anchor Church, 6600 W. 127th St.: Step 1 session from 10:30 to 11 or 12:30 to 1 p.m. April 7. It’s an information 30-minute gathering immediately after each service. Participants learn more about Anchor Palos, meet Pastor Ryan, can ask questions and receive a gift. Adults meet in the chapel. Children may attend Kids Ministry during the class. Tinley Park

Trinity Lutheran Church, 6850 W. 159th St.: Six-week session titled Made to Crave meets at 12:30 p.m. Mondays starting April 8 or at 6 p.m. Tuesdays starting April 9. The program is designed to help people reach health goals and grow closer to God by helping them gain the motivation needed to accomplish goals in a weight-loss journey, no matter what form it takes.
