So many celebrity children are going to college next year — which means so many celebrity children are going to prom right now. Case in point: Soon-to-be LaGuardia High School alum Suri Cruise was seen near Columbus Circle this week, posing for photos and laughing amid a sea of floor-length gowns and adolescent tuxedos. The 18-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who appears to be bound for Carnegie Mellon in the fall, wore a drop-waist corset dress with a vintage-looking floral print, strappy heels, and a pink-and-white corset. Was this the coolest dress at art-school prom?

As for Cruise’s prom date, the New York Post has ID’d him as a “dashing” aspiring musician named Toby Cohen, also a senior at LaGuardia, who apparently posts videos of himself playing piano and guitar, singing, and writing songs on YouTube and TikTok. He seems to have made his accounts private since tabloids outed him as Suri Cruise’s prom date, but not before the Post published screenshots of him and his chunky silver rings studiously plunking away on a keyboard. Looks like a LaGuardia prom king to me.

A huge congratulations to Suri on both graduating and, by all appearances, actually having a good time at prom. Turns out you can have it all, at least when you’re Katie Holmes’s daughter.
