I believe the idea of “American Dream” comes with a side effect. It has the opposite side of “positive”… It gives a set of rules we must follow and pass. It becomes a school. Regents exam. What if you fail? Will you get accepted?! Will people look at you the same way? Do you deserve the same love as someone next to you who’s an overachiever in the school of the American Dream?
We always hear inspirational stories… who wants to publicize failure.
But what if it’s you with failed marriage or relationship, health issues or work ambition didn’t turn out all that romantic. But who wants to speak about that… We never hear people speak… We see homeless on the street, and suicide stories on the news. But what if it’s less dramatic. What if it’s just another human being all clean and not disheveled just walking among city lights with a broken heart like this ? guitar?!! Hey, you… American Dream… do you have a solution for that?!!
