In a recent livestream — a video of which has been making the rounds online — Latto opened up about her choice to pursue Brazilian butt-lift surgery. As reported by Complex, the rapper pointed to public pressure and cruel comments about her body as a reason for getting the butt-enhancement surgery when she was a “young and impressionable” 21-year-old.

“My body was so tea,” Latto said, adding that after signing her record deal at 21, she could suddenly afford to indulge in her favorite foods, which caused her to gain a little weight. “Everybody on the internet was calling me ‘bad-bodied’ and stuff, so I feel like that played a role. I started being a little insecure about my body.”

Around this time, she decided to get a BBL. Latto, now 25, said people still, for some reason, feel the need to bring it up constantly in the comments of her Instagrams. “Every time I post a gym picture, people be like, ‘Oh, she got a BBL.’ I’ve been so loud and clear about a BBL that I had four years ago. When I was 21 — that y’all convinced me I needed, by the way,” she said. Her biggest surgery regret is getting a boob job, she said.

This isn’t the first time Latto’s opened up about her plastic surgery. In November, she told Cosmopolitan that she hired a trainer to help her maintain her BBL. In April 2023, she touched on the hypocrisy many women encounter when they have work done during her Apple Music show, 777: “When I didn’t have my surgery, they’re like, ‘Oh, she shaped like her white side’ … And then when I got the surgery, it is, ‘Oh, she’s botched. Oh, it’s too heavy.’” At the time, she said she wouldn’t advise any girls or women to get plastic surgery because it’s not a “permanent fix” for flaws. “I’m telling you from someone who’s been there, done it. Find peace within your natural state because you’re going to find a flaw and another flaw and another flaw and another flaw.”

During her recent livestream, though, she conceded that everyone should just do what works for them, saying, “Moral of the story: I just think everybody should just stop worrying about everybody. Natural girls are winning. Surgery girls … BBL girls are winning,” she said. “Do what works for you and mind your own business.”
