There will be activities all weekend in the city for Aurora’s Pride celebration.

Beginning on Friday, the city of Aurora will host what has become an annual event, the raising of the Pride flag in One Aurora Plaza.

The flag raising at 11 a.m., in the plaza in front of North Island Center on Galena Boulevard at the Fox River, will include music and awards.

On Saturday, at 6:30 p.m., the Aurora LGBTQ+ Advisory Board will sponsor Pride at the Plaza, including a drag show and music from a DJ.

The show will be hosted by Sasha Love, and will feature headliner Maya Lozano, among other entertainers.

Donations at the event will support the Denee Mallon Scholarship Fund.

On Sunday, Aurora Pride will sponsor the seventh annual Aurora Pride Parade, an event featuring floats and many other entries.

The parade through downtown Aurora steps off at noon.

After the parade, there will be a Pride after party at Two Brothers Roundhouse on North Broadway in downtown Aurora. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Aurora Pride website at www.aurora pride.org.
