NYC is adding more affordable apartments than ever. But who are they meant for?



Mayor Eric Adams and Gov. Kathy Hochul, flanked by dozens of people, hold shovels and toss dirt into a pile.

Roughly 5% of the 24,000 newly added affordable housing stock is for moderate income New Yorkers.

The city is adding more units for the lowest-income residents, but about the same number are reserved for people earning six-figure salaries. [ more › ]
