Frying Pan

sstavsky has added a photo to the pool:

Frying Pan

Frying Pan is a lightship built in 1929. Initially used as a ship that acts like a lighthouse, it has served other functions, as well. During World War II, it inspected ships and boats entering the port, and subsequently served briefly as a relief ship.

It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Currently, it is moored at Pier 66a in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan (off the Hudson River) and is rented for events and functions.
