Did you know that country music was spread from a Mexican AM radio station, owned by a guy who wanted to sell his plastic Jesus statues? And the job he had before that was even weirder. This is clearly something Beyoncé knows, since her teaser video for Renaissance Act II is replete with country radio imagedy. Bey shows people driving down country roads (presumably in Texas), gazing at her billboard in a “You look lonely, I can fix that” kind of way. She can fix that, with a twangified country act of Renaissance.
Fans speculated Beyoncé’s next album would be yeehaw since the Grammys, when she appeared in a white Stetson. And took pictures with everyone like she was Minnie Mouse at Disneyland. The names for the first and last song on the 16-track album have been released: “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and “16 Carriages.” “Texas Hold ‘Em” was also featured in the album teaser video. Renaissance Act II drops March 29.
