CCL holder wounds 3 men attempting attack on him on Northwest Side, cops say

A 43-year-old man wounded three men attempting to beat him Friday night during an argument in front of his residence in Belmont Gardens neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m., the man was in front of his residence in the 4700 block of West Wrightwood Avenue when an argument broke out with three known men, ages 22, 29 and 55, said police. The group began attacking the victim, who opened fire, striking them all.

One of the men, 29, suffered five wounds to the torso, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and listed in critical condition. A 22-year-old man suffered a wound to the chest and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. A 55-year-old man was shot in the neck, and also was taken to Masonic and listed in critical condition, police said.

A gun was recovered on the scene, and police said the shooter was a conceal carry license holder. He suffered blunt force trauma to the head and was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
