A very noncorporate project floated in Queens where Amazon wanted ‘HQ2’

A coalition of Long Island City, Queens, neighbors, artists and others -- organized under a community land trust -- have proposed converting a mostly empty Department of Education building into the Queensborough People's Space, which would serve community needs and be shared by a number of individuals and small businesses -- and kept out of the hands of for-profit developers.
