Kim Kardashian is following in her daughter’s footsteps and getting serious about her acting career. In the latest episode of The Kardashians, her plotline revolves around her pitching and eventually selling a comedy vehicle to Netflix, written by Paula Pell and Janine Brito. Never in a million years did I think I’d hear Kim Kardashian say “Paula Pell” so many times in an episode of television, but life is a rich tapestry. Kim also revealed that she has a ten-year plan for her newfound passion.
“I can do a movie a year,” Kardashian said in a confessional. “I’ve got about ten years where I still look good, so that’s all I’ve got in me and then I’ll take some time off.” In ten years, Kim will be 53. For reference, Jennifer Lopez is 54. In ten years, Kim will be in her prime heart-factory years! I wonder if she’s trolling or if she just doesn’t know that there’s a whole cinematic universe based around the concept of older women going on fabulous and kooky adventures that she could slide right into.
As with all of Kim’s business endeavors, her movie-a-year plan sounds exhausting to me, but that kind of thinking is why I’ll never have a shapewear empire. It also seems completely feasible for Kim, who told friends at dinner that studio offers were immediately rolling in after she, Pell, and Brito were done pitching. Additionally, Kim said that once the Netflix deal was announced, people like Amy Schumer started reaching out asking to be part of the project.
“I’m really nervous about it because I have to [fucking] deliver,” Kim told her posse. “It’s such a challenge for me and I want to welcome a challenge. Every year I was like, ‘I wanna do something that makes me so uncomfortable that I really have to challenge myself.’” While Kim claims to want to push herself, she’s only willing to go so far. Maybe she’ll take a Meisner class or hire a dialect coach, but she’s drawing the line at cutting out injectables.
“I also feel like you need less Botox for more emotion, and I don’t have it,” Kim joked. “How am I gonna cry? How am I gonna be scared out of my mind? I cannot move.” And the Oscar for Best Self-Aware Reality Star goes to …
