Last week, InTouch Weekly and “Page Six” both reported that Gisele Bündchen and her boyfriend, Joaquim Valente, were rumored to have split owing to fallout from Tom Brady’s Netflix roast. (During the three-hour takedown, the participating comedians made plenty of jokes about the former quarterback’s personal life — his ex-wife and her new beau very much included.) While the outlets were fuzzy on the exact timing of said breakup, both noted that the supermodel and her former jujitsu instructor had not been photographed together since late April, just before the special aired in early May. Come Father’s Day, however, those rumors were put to bed.
On Monday, TMZ posted photos from the family’s celebratory weekend activities featuring Bündchen, her kids Benjamin and Vivian, and the man of the hour: Valente himself. (Brady missed the occasion because of his Fox broadcasting debut the same day, according to “Page Six,” though he did spend some fatherly time with the kids earlier in the week.) The family unit sans Brady was photographed paddleboarding in Miami for two days in a row, and the public reemergence of Gisele and Joaquim seemed a well-timed wink to communicate to the tabloids that they’d gotten it wrong. While Bündchen has not commented on her relationship status since the rumors broke last week, letting your boyfriend sub in for Dad seems a pretty good indication that these two are doing just fine.
Per “Page Six,” the two supposedly split because the “spotlight was too much” for Valente. The native Brazilian was plucked from obscurity after reports first surfaced in 2023 that he had become romantically involved with Bündchen, his client, fresh off her divorce from the former quarterback. “Joaquim’s a regular guy,” an insider told InTouch Weekly at the time. “He’s not used to all the attention he was getting.” That attention was then exacerbated by rumors that Gisele cheated on Tom with Joaquim (she has repeatedly denied this claim), as well as Brady’s roast, in which Valente was a popular subject of mockery throughout the evening.
Despite whatever public torment Valente experienced after the Netflix special, it seems the fitness guru has come out on top. While Brady was busy getting booed during his first official outing as a TV analyst, Valente was spending time shirtless with a supermodel and her loved ones.
