Tom Brady’s Netflix roast is the disaster that keeps on ravaging. On Wednesday, InTouch Weekly reported that Gisele Bündchen and her boyfriend Joaquim Valente were rumored to have split due to the continued fallout from the comedy special. By Thursday, “Page Six” had also shared the gossip, though nothing has been confirmed at this point. While the outlets were fuzzy on the exact timing of said breakup, both noted that the supermodel and her former jujitsu instructor had not been photographed together since late April, just before the special aired in early May.
Per “Page Six,” the rumored split centers on the idea that the “spotlight was too much” for Valente. The native Brazilian was plucked from obscurity after reports first surfaced in 2023 that he had become romantically involved with Bündchen, his client, fresh off her divorce from the former quarterback. “Joaquim’s a regular guy,” an insider told InTouch Weekly. “He’s not used to all the attention he was getting.” That attention was then exacerbated by rumors that Gisele cheated on Tom with Joaquim (she has repeatedly denied this claim), as well as Brady’s roast, in which Valente was a popular subject of mockery throughout the evening.
“Joaquim became part of the joke. People actually started asking him if he was the reason for their divorce,” the source said. “He hated that … By agreeing to do the roast, [Tom] basically put a target on Joaquim’s back.”
It’s a believable story, but for the time being, we’ll file this one away in the gossip folder (especially considering Bündchen’s team did not respond to multiple requests for comment from “Page Six”). Still, call me old-fashioned, because I’ve got my fingers crossed for Joaquim’s Cinderella story. Although, training a world-famous Victoria’s Secret model can hardly be considered a “rags” scenario.
