Imagine Being Stuck on a Plane With James Corden

At this point, traveling by plane is a punishment I would not wish on my worst enemy. It is hard to imagine how it could be worse, but one way is to throw in a comedy show you can’t opt out of. That is apparently what was inflicted upon dozens of British Airways customers who had the misfortune of being stuck on a problem-riddled flight with James Corden.

According to TMZ, Corden was on a plane from Portugal to the U.K. that had to make an emergency landing in Lisbon after running into a mechanical issue with the wings. After sitting on the tarmac for three hours, the passengers — Corden included — were apparently moved to an immigration area with zero instructions on what to do. It’s not clear what happened next, but photos show Corden having what looks to be an animated exchange with some British Airways employees in a deserted section of the airport.

Considering how he (allegedly) handled encountering a streak of egg white in his wife’s $25 omelet, this objectively hellish situation does not seem like something Corden would take in stride. But TMZ claims he was totally chill and was in fact so at ease with being trapped on a plane for three hours that he spent most of the stretch “telling jokes and taking pics” with his fellow passengers. Oh, and that little chat with the British Airways crew? Apparently, those passengers–slash–audience members insist he was “totally in the right.” Why would you think otherwise?!
