Two homicides reported in Harvey over space of a week

Two homicides have been reported in Harvey in the span of less than a week.

Kevin Jackson, 33, of the 15100 block of Western Avenue, suffered multiple gunshot wounds at an address near his home, according to the medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at 6:19 p.m. Tuesday in the 15000 block of Western, according to the office, which ruled his death a homicide.

Sinforiano Gandarilla, 35, of the 16200 block of Emerald Avenue, Harvey, was shot multiple times May 24 at East 157th Street and Finch Avenue in Harvey, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Gandarilla was pronounced dead at 11 p.m. Friday at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, according to the office, which ruled the death a homicide.

Additional information about the two shootings was not immediately available from Harvey police.
