Well, it turns out that Kravitz might be channeling all of his sexual energy into working out in leather pants, because he is not actually having sex. The singer told The Guardian that he’s not only celibate but that he hasn’t been in a relationship for nine years. “It’s a spiritual thing,” he told the outlet.
Earlier in the piece, Kravitz alluded to the kind of discipline required to be celibate for years at a time. The singer admitted that he might have had a bit too much fun once his marriage to Lisa Bonet ended in 1993. “After the marriage, I became more like [my father]. I was becoming a player,” Kravitz said. “I didn’t like it. I didn’t want to be that guy. So I had to tackle that, and it took years.” According to Kravitz, he tackled his player status by “not letting my own desires take over.”
Now, to do some quick math, Kravitz said he hadn’t been in a serious relationship for nine years. He didn’t say if his celibacy had also lasted that long, but let’s say it did. What happened to Lenny Kravitz nine years ago that might keep him from engaging with the pleasures of the flesh? That’s right, it’s the time his dick popped out of his pants. Coincidence?
