While the year at large is shaping up for yet another season of high-profile divorces, Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny are making the case for a whiplash summer. On Friday, TMZ spotted the reportedly broken-up former couple dining in Miami, marking the second time in less than a month that the two have been photographed chitchatting again. Unfortunately, some credit must go to Anna Wintour for inviting both exes to this year’s Met Gala, after which Jenner was seen “rubbing [Benito’s] head” at an after-party thrown by Emily Ratajkowski.
Per TMZ, the former flings met up for some late-night dining at Gekko Japanese Steakhouse following Bad Bunny’s performance at Florida’s Kaseya Center. Sources claim the duo walked inside together and were seated in a VIP room, where they spent the next hour and some change. On their way out, footage obtained by TMZ shows Bunny looking over his shoulder to make sure Jenner was still behind him — what the outlet describes as “couple” behavior — before hopping in an SUV together. While two post-breakup hangouts don’t exactly point to an on-again relationship, I certainly couldn’t be paid to spend even one hour with any of my exes, let alone share a ride home with them.
The reggaeton star and the Kardashian family’s least problematic member dated for a portion of last year — a period in which Jenner introduced Benito to the equestrian lifestyle, sharing a single horse as in a syrupy rom-com — before things reportedly “started to fizzle out between them,” according to ET. At the time, the same source claimed theirs wasn’t a “forever type of relationship,” which checks out at the very least on a linguistic level: Jenner hardly speaks a lick of Spanish. Though this bout of déjà vu might hint at a rekindling, I think at this juncture it’s safe to say these two might just want to partake in a little summer fun. You know, the kind with minimal conversation? Now that’s something worth cheers-ing 818 Tequila over.
