Hard or soft, Billie Eilish can’t hit Taylor Swift off the top of the album chart. For the fifth week in a row, The Tortured Poets Department is topping the Billboard 200 album chart. It earned 378,000 equivalent album units, up 45% from last week. That’s mainly attributed to new digital download and CD variants, as well as more signed copies of the album being available on her store. Hit Me Hard and Soft debuted at number 2. Eilish earned 339,000 equivalent album units, 191,000 being traditional album sales. It’s Eilish’s best week on the charts to date. Her album has multiple editions and colors, but all the same track list. Eilish spoke out against having too many vinyl album variants as environmentally irresponsible prior to Hit Me Hard and Soft’s release. Rounding out the top 5 this week are Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time, Gunna’s One of Wun, and Future and Metro Boomin’s collab We Don’t Trust You. We’ll have to wait until Monday to see whether TTPD winds up eating Billie’s “Lunch” on the Hot 100, though.
