Everyone gather ’round, it’s time for our annual check-in on Joe Alwyn. It’s been over a year since he and Taylor Swift broke up, and the actor has maintained a fairly low profile while his ex has entered the most public relationship of all time. The last time we wrote about him, he was looking pretty good in a new Céline campaign. What’s he up to now?
Alwyn has made his way to France to attend the Cannes premiere of Kinds of Kindness, the latest Yorgos Lanthimos film in which he stars alongside Swift’s close friend Emma Stone and Jack Antonoff’s wife Margaret Qualley. This web is intricate! If you want to get really granular about things, Alwyn and Qualley also starred together in Claire Denis’s Stars at Noon. That film shot in Panama, and their absence led their partners (Swift and Antonoff) to begin working on Midnights in their absence.
Anyway, that’s all in the past. Alwyn seems to be doing pretty well right now. He looked handsome on the red carpet at Cannes, and according to one stan account, the actor has “found a new pose.” That’s something! Alwyn also attended a party at the festival last night, and TMZ was quick to note that he was “chatting up blondes.” In the photos, he is standing with a bunch of blonde women, but you must remember that Alwyn is also blond. Maybe those are his cousins (you never know with blondes).
That’s all for now on Alwyn. We’ll check back with him in a year or so. By then, he might have awards buzz for Kinds of Kindness, or maybe he’ll even have a new girlfriend? If he can learn a new pose, anything is possible.
