Tom Brady Is Trying to ‘Be a Better Parent’ Post-Roast

Tom Brady might not have given the decision to partake in his Netflix roast much thought, if any at all! Since reports emerged that both of the former quarterback’s famous exes, Gisele Bündchen and Bridget Moynahan, were upset with how their families had been portrayed during the special, Brady seems to have embarked on a humble apology tour, tail tucked between his legs. In Tuesday’s episode of The Pivot Podcast, Brady admitted that he regretted putting his personal life under a microscope and that he had thought the roast was a good idea because he “just want[ed] to laugh.”

“I liked when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way they affected my kids,” Brady said. “It’s the hardest part about … like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”

So you’re telling me the man who went through one of the most high-profile divorces of the decade thought his separation from a supermodel would, for some reason, be spared by a bunch of sharky comedians who are paid to skewer celebrities? Someone really did not think this through. At least the man is trying to make amends with the mothers of his children by making public apologies to three dudes on a podcast.

“I’m going to be a better parent as I go forward” because of the roast, Brady continued. “At the same time, I’m happy everyone who was there had a lot of fun. If we’re not laughing about things, we’re crying. We should have more fun. What do we love? We love laughing in the locker room. Let’s do more of that and love each other and celebrate other people’s success.”

Okay, Tom “We Should Have More Fun” Brady. In the future, I might recommend redefining fun as Jet Skiing or pottery classes, as opposed to allowing your entire family to be roasted by Jeff Ross and Nikki Glaser.
