Cardi B arrived at the 2024 Met Gala with ten dress handlers (after making calls and charging her phone with a portable charger at the carpet entrance). Since the Bronx rapper started attending the Met Gala in 2018, she’s never had a bad moment. This year she showed up in something she’s never done: all black — but of course only in the way that Cardi does all black. The black tulle Giambattista Valli gown boasted pounds of layered tulle and a structured hourglass bodice with a train that flowed behind her as she was guided up the stairs.
The black couture gown was contrasted with jade gemstones on her rings, earrings, and necklace. Her love affair with jade continued with her asymmetrical shaped nails, her green colored contacts (she’s been in her colored contact era this year) and bold green eyeliner, contrasted with dramatic iEnvy lashes. Meanwhile, her shoulders peeked out from behind the deep neckline and were glowing from Vaseline’s Radiant X body oil, and her bone-straight-down hair was hidden under a tall, tulle wrap.
