The 2023–24 Broadway season began what feels like a millennium ago with Grey House on June 1, 2023. Now, 38 more opening nights later, the season is finally wrapped up, which means the 77th Tony Award nominations can officially come out. The noms are being announced by Tony winners Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Take Me Out) and Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton). The first batch of nominations will be revealed on CBS at 8:30 a.m. ET, with the rest coming on the Tony Awards’ YouTube channel at 9:00 a.m. Previous industry awards including the Drama Desk, the Drama League, and the Outer Critics Circle Awards have been pretty inconsistent (though they’ve all been taken with those pretty boys in The Outsiders), so who the Tonys will love is anybody’s guess. The award ceremony will be held on June 16 at Lincoln Center with host Ariana DeBose returning for her third year in a row. Who will win big? It’s anybody’s guess (probably Merrily We Roll Along).
