WNBA player Kelsey Plum and NFL player Darren Waller are getting divorced after a year of marriage. On Tuesday, Plum, a point guard for the Las Vegas Aces, and Waller, a tight end for the New York Giants, filed a joint-petition divorce in Las Vegas, ESPN reports.

“I’m devastated,” Plum wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. “I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it’s time to go. God has given me such an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends. One day I’ll share my story, today is not that day.”

Plum and Waller reportedly began dating in 2022 while Waller was playing for the Las Vegas Raiders. Weeks after their March 2023 wedding, Waller was traded to the New York Giants. Earlier this month, he told People that he is considering retiring from football. Meanwhile, Plum — a two-time WNBA champion and gold medalist — is training for the Paris Olympics and preparing for the WNBA season starting in May. In her Tuesday post, she thanked people for giving her “the grace to process my pain, to forgive and move forward.”
