Emmys 2024 Red Carpet: How to Watch

If you’re feeling a little rusty on your Emmys knowledge, don’t beat yourself up. It has been longer than usual between the annual airing. The awards show that celebrates all things television normally happens every September, but since last summer was affected by Hollywood’s strikes, the 2023 show was postponed until January 2024. That means all the shows up for the awards are going to feel a little old, especially since the shows had to air between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023, to be considered for nominations. To understand how weird the timing is, just consider the the last winner of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series was Zendaya from Euphoria season two, a show that feels like it aired ten years ago. Some “older” shows up for nominations this year include The White Lotus, Wednesday, Stranger Things, Fleishman Is in Trouble, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and The Bear’s first season. But there are also some more recent shows up for nomination including Succession, Beef, Abbott Elementary, and The Last of Us. It’s a lot of television at once, so here’s everything to note ahead of the red carpet and show.

What Time Does the Emmys Red Carpet Start?

The red carpet will start at 6 p.m. ET and last until the show begins at 8 p.m ET on Monday. Two full hours of all the best looks.

Where Can I Watch the Emmys Red Carpet?

Per tradition, Live From E! Emmys red carpet coverage is back with Laverne Cox hosting and can be watched on E!. You can also watch a red carpet stream from People and Entertainment Weekly on people.com and ew.com, and both People and EW’s YouTube channel.

Who Is Even Going to Be There?

Everyone important from television is going to be there, including a lot of the same people who were at the recent Golden Globes like Ayo Edebiri, Jeremy Allen White, Sarah Snook, and Pedro Pascal. But there’s also a number of people who will be there from earlier-airing shows, like Jenna Ortega, Dominique Fishback, Claire Danes, and everyone from White Lotus season two, including Jennifer Coolidge and Aubrey Plaza.

What Can We Expect From the Carpet?

We can expect less Barbie pink than other red carpets, but we’ll probably still see plenty of red and plenty of bobs. And if the last red carpet from the Governors Awards hints at anything, sparkles will be plentiful, too.
