Migrant teens and young adults aren't getting necessary help, according to shelters



Outside of a former school in the East Village, dozens of people line up in the hopes of getting shelter.

The long lines outside of St. Brigid’s, a shuttered Catholic school, Monday evening came as the city issued a Code Blue Weather Emergency.

Youth shelter providers said there’s no formal system to identify migrants between 16 and 24 years old whose needs differ from those of adults. [ more › ]
